The Sprint Filter P08 F1-85 is the highest-performance drop-in air filter available for the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 (2022+) and Shotgun 650 (2024+). Built by Sprint Filter — Italy’s race-grade filtration company, established in 1952 — using patented dry polyester technology trusted by Factory MotoGP and World Superbike teams.
Direct replacement for the stock paper element. Drops into the OEM airbox with zero modification. No ECU remap required on stock bikes.
The F1-85 uses a single-layer polyester medium with a 22-micron wire diameter that filters particles down to 85 microns — while delivering approximately 3x the airflow of Sprint Filter’s standard P08. Independent testing by the University of Wales Trinity St David found Sprint Filter’s polyester tissue outperformed every leading brand filter tested, including competing race-spec filters. The F1-85 also features Sprint Filter’s patented waterproof technology.
High-flow dry polyester construction: Uses a precision-manufactured single-layer polyester element — not cotton, not foam, not paper. This provides more uniform airflow compared to multi-layer cotton filters that can have inconsistent flow across their surface.
Direct OEM fitment: Drops directly into the stock airbox of the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650. No modifications, no adapters, no cutting. Remove the stock paper filter, install, and reassemble. Under 30 minutes with basic tools.
No ECU remap needed on stock bikes: According to Sprint Filter, the P08 F1-85 works on a stock Super Meteor 650 or Shotgun 650 without ECU remapping or additional control units. For modified bikes with aftermarket exhausts or ECU flashes, the increased airflow complements those upgrades.
Virtually maintenance-free: Unlike oil-soaked cotton filters that need regular washing and oiling, the P08 F1-85 is a dry filter. Remove it, blow clean with compressed air, reinstall. No oil treatments, no cleaning solutions, no drying time.
Long lifecycle: The synthetic polyester material doesn’t degrade, stretch, or lose structure over time with proper care. Sprint Filter states the filter can last the lifetime of the motorcycle.
Race-proven heritage: Sprint Filter’s technology is used by Factory MotoGP and World Superbike (WSBK) racing teams. The P08 F1-85 is the same specification filter made available for production road bikes.
Fitment is straightforward and follows the same process as replacing the stock paper filter:
No special tools are required beyond what’s needed to access the airbox.
The Sprint Filter P08 F1-85 is a dry filter — DO NOT apply oil to it. Applying oil will compromise filtration performance.
For routine cleaning: remove the filter, blow clean with compressed air from the clean side (inside out), and reinstall. For heavily soiled filters, Sprint Filter recommends soaking in a common household detergent, rinsing with clean water until it runs clear, allowing it to fully air dry, and then blowing with compressed air before reinstalling.
